“Injustice Anywhere is a Threat to Justice Everywhere”
~ Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
To reintegrate formerly incarcerated individuals into the community through post-conviction relief, reduce recividism, and improve public safety through addressing the educational, employment, healthcare, housing, and family relationship needs of the formerly incarcerated who are re-entering society by providing support and connection to neeeded services in the community after release.
Provide opportunities for formerly incarcerated individuals to successfully connect as productive members of society. Through active partnership with all stakeholders, re-entry will contribute to safer communities and an enhanced quality of life.
“We believe that even those who have struggled with the dark past can find brighter days ahead. One way we act on that belief is by helping former prisoners who paid for their crimes – we help them build new lives as productive members of our society… Our government has a responsibility to help prisoners to return as contributing members of their community.”
~ President George W. Bush, Upon signing the Second Chance Act of 2007
